📍 Your Current location card isn't monitored in the background: the server never receives your live location. To get notified about where you usually are, add it as a saved place (+ Add place).
On iPhone/iPad (iOS 16.4 or later), notifications only work from the Home Screen app: in Safari tap Share → Add to Home Screen, open the app from that icon, then turn this on. The server checks every 10 minutes. Urgent only means active danger (e.g. shootings, structure fires, shelter-in-place, severe weather warnings); Urgent + Notable adds significant nearby incidents. Routine items stay in the app and are never sent as notifications.
What's stored when notifications are on
Only what's needed to send them: your browser's push address and its encryption keys (issued by Apple, Google or Mozilla; they don't identify you), the level you picked, and your saved places (name, location rounded to about half a mile, and radius), plus a list of alerts already sent so nothing repeats. No name, email, phone number or live location. Turning notifications off deletes all of it from the server.
